Mary Lippitt

Dr. Mary Lippitt is a recognized consultant, speaker, trainer, and researcher on leadership, executing innovation, and implementing change. She has the proven ability to get the results leaders want by helping them craft balanced decisions, increase their strategic influence, build trust and alignment, and improve organizational learning. Her clients include: Lockheed Martin Corporation, Marriott International, SAIC, Arbitron Inc., MCI, and the National Science Foundation. Her Leadership Spectrum Profile® was cited by the Human Resource Executive magazine as one of the 10 Top Training Products of 2000.

Dr. Lippitt’s book The Leadership Spectrum: 6 Business Priorities That Get Results was published by Davies-Black in September 2002. The book earned the Bronze Award as the Best Business Book of 2002 and received endorsements from Jim Kouzes, Jay Conger, Bob Pike, Warren Schmidt, Jack Zenger and other leadership experts.

For 16 years, she has conducted research in leadership, credibility, trust, and organizational systems. She served as an Executive in Residence at the HR Institute’s Future of Leadership and Quest for Innovation research studies commissioned by AMA.

Dr. Lippitt’s work and research on credible communication has appeared in the Journal of Business Strategy, Handbook of Business Strategy, Human Resource Planning Journal, and Training and Development. The Drucker Foundation’s journal, Leader to Leader, highlighted her work. She has also appeared in Industry Week, Manchester Guardian, Sun-Sentinel, OD Practitioner, Executive Excellence and Internal Communicator. She wrote cases for The Transfer of Training (Addison Wesley), The Learning Organization (ASTD), and Transferring Learning (ASTD).

Dr. Lippitt has been active in the American Society for Training and Development, the Organization Development Network, and the International Leadership Association. She has a master’s degree in management and a doctorate in business administration.
